Azure Data Explorer (ADX)

High-volume telemetry/log/time-series analytics

Overview

We design Azure Data Explorer clusters and databases for telemetry, logs, and time-series data that would be expensive in a relational warehouse. Ingestion, retention, and caching are set per table from how far back analysts actually query.

We write the KQL functions the team will reuse, connect ingestion from Event Hubs or blobs, and put access behind Entra ID groups. A dashboard or a Power BI connection is added only after the tables answer the main questions.

What we deliver

  • Cluster, database, and tables with ingestion mappings
  • Retention and caching policy per table
  • Shared KQL functions for the queries the team repeats
  • Entra ID access and a connection from Event Hubs, logs, or blobs

Business benefits

  • High-volume telemetry is queried in KQL instead of loaded into the warehouse
  • Retention matches the questions you ask, which keeps the cluster smaller
  • Repeated investigations start from a shared function, not a pasted query
